MARGIELA X CUTLER & GROSS

Maison Martin Margiela and Cutler and Gross group are pleased to announce their first ever eyewear collaboration and license. Sharing common values, Maison Martin Margiela and Cutler and Gross group have decided to join forces for the first time. Since founding Cutler and Gross in 1969, Graham Cutler and Tony Gross have pioneered eyewear as we know it today. Often referred to as iconoclast and experimental, Maison Martin Margiela expresses its creativity through recycling, transformation and reinterpretation - like an emotion, a unique and timeless proposal defying all laws and rules. Grounded by their distinctive creative approach on thoughts and vision yet complementary in their aesthetics and expertise, Maison Martin Margiela and Cutler and Gross group reveal their first collection based on irreverential design and hand-made quality. The Maison Martin Margiela "Incognito" sunglasses were an immediate hit: the one-lens glasses were an edgy a horizontal stripe crossing the face and fashion lovers could not get enough of the avant garde cut of these frames. Now, MMM offers a new context for eyewear through a simple yet radical expression. The "Anatomic" style is an enlarged rounded shape enveloping the face to protect the full visual field and the "wrong size" style is exactly that: a geometric play on lenses seemingly ill-fitting the frame.
